Another Awesome Week @ManorNewTech (Week 36)

During Week 36, Manor New Technology students took their trimester exams.  On Friday, they competed in our Annual Advisory Olympics field day and celebrated our Seniors in the Senior Send-off Ceremony.

 

Juniors in Mrs. Schimel’s and Ms. Davis’ Integrated Physics and Engineering class displayed their solar systems from their solar systems project.  In this project, students explored gravitational forces and their role in orbital motion.

Students and teachers in the Robotics class received really nice illustrated Thank You notes from the Pioneer Crossing Elementary school students for helping them cut their wind chimes using our machine shop tools.

On Tuesday, Ms. Valderrama got a surprise visit from the Manor Education Foundation (MEF) who came by to let her know that she won a Fall 2016 MEF Innovation Grant.

On Wednesday, Ms. DiMaria and Mr. Ray led professional development on the New Echo.  This was part 1 of a 2-part series on the New Tech Network’s new online educational platform.

On Wednesday, the seniors pulled a sweet prank on our principal, Mr. Garcia.  They filled his office with balloons that were inscribed with positive messages and thank you notes.  They all came by to thank him and take pictures of their prank.

On Friday, we held our Annual Advisory Olympics.  Our advisories competed in an all-day field day that included events such as Manor New Tech Trivia, Quidditch, Crab Soccer, 3-legged race, Tug-of-War, etc.  Mr. Ray’s Senior Advisory was the Overall Winner for the 2016 Advisory Olympics.

On Friday afternoon, the school gathered for Senior Sendoff.  Each senior got a congratulations card from a staff member and balloon to symbolically “send off” to the skies to represent their graduation send-off from our school.
